Design Intern

In the summer of 2023, I had a paid internship at Skyline Furniture Company in Thornton, IL. Skyline has been in business for over 75 years and has established a legacy of unwavering dedication to innovation, design, and craftsmanship, which has solidified its place as a leader in the furniture world. I worked in person with the company’s design team, which taught me about the furniture-making process from start to finish. I learned about all the design aspects of creating unique furniture pieces. I helped research and find inspiration for new furniture pieces, and assisted in selecting the pieces and fabrics featured in Skyline's annual Highpoint Show. I also contributed to the finalization of Skyline's new website. I audited the website before its initial launch date to identify potential errors. I also uploaded company logos and press releases to the website. I then used the Adobe programs Premiere Pro and InDesign to update furniture instruction manuals and instructional videos.
